Finally Updating

So, it's been a while and last night my Grampa was giving me guff that since now I have internet I don't have an excuse for not updating my blog, so here we go.....

I'll start with some general information about the last few months. For those of you that do not know we moved in with Mike's sister Andrea and her husband Rich. They have a basement apartment that they are very kindly renting to us so we can save for a house of our own. We moved in on May 21st.
I was working for Michael's Craft store, but got a newer, better position with a company called Employer Advocates. Mike got a promotion at work to the Supervisory Line. We knew we just had to wait it out for the right things to come along, but it really all hit at once. It's nice to not have as much job stress now and we are looking forward to both of our bright futures in work.
I am in my second semester of school at SLCC for paralegal studies. I finished last semester with an A+ in math and a B in philosophy. Mike got A's in both Micro and Macro Economics. Yay! Mike got accepted into Western Governors University Accounting program, and he is hard at work on that.
I think that brings us up to date on the major news, now for some fun pics.

We celebrated Mike's 24th birthday on June 7th. He took the day off and we went to Seven Peaks for the day and had Tepanyaki for dinner. Mike had never done Tepanyaki and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is us at Seven Peaks ready to swim.

This is our Tepanyaki chef. He was really fun. I think he is tossing shrimp for Rich to catch. Rich caught 3 for 3, Mike 2 out of 3, and I got 1 out of 3. I didn't realize he was going to throw three at me! I was all excited that I got one and then I got smacked with the next one!

Mike enjoying his birthday sundae at the restaurant.

After we moved, we came upstairs one night to find Grayson passed out on the floor after his bottle. Doesn't he kinda look like a little bitty drunk passed out? ;) Love that kid!

We went on a hike up Bell Canyon a few weeks ago and this was the river at the bridge crossing. it is crazy how fast and cold the rivers are running right now.

We stopped at a cute little lake to have lunch and the goose and some ducks came right over to visit. They were so nice, they even let us have a little bit of our sandwiches.

Anyway, that pretty much brings everybody up to speed and I'm going to try and keep you all updated.
Love,
Kami and Mike

What we've been up to

Well, it's been kinda crazy, we both started back to school and I started yoga, so in the midst of everything the blog has been a little bit neglected. But let's see, after Christmas we finally decided to get some actual decorations for the apartment. So we got a bunch of pictures and stuff like that for now, we didn't really want to go crazy until we move in May. For one thing, less to pack, and another, we don't know what kind of space we'll have.
We also got new couches that have lovely recliners in them, I'll post pics soon.
Other than that we're both just working away at school and doing good. These are some recent pics I took.

This is my mom's dog Georgie, isn't he cute?!?!!?

Me getting very excited to open my presents.

Christmas 2010

We are so excited for our first Christmas! We got our Black Friday Deals, which was my first Black Friday excursion. We got up at 2:00 in the morning to go to Target, waited in line for an hour, but in the end, totally worth it!! We were able to get the big screen tv that Mike has been wanting so badly. And I have to admit that it is pretty epic!

We broke it in by watching Harry Potter, because Mike hadn't seen 5 or 6 and I want to see 7 so he had to catch up.

Then after Black Friday madness, we came home, slept for a few more hours and then Mike had to go to work. But as soon as he got home we started putting up Christmas. It was sooooo fun to decorate our house together.

Mike putting up the tree.

Mike still fighting with the tree......

This is part way decorated, popcorn and lights.

The finished Product! Or almost, the next day we realized that we forgot to put on the candy canes.
The completed tree, with presents underneath as well!

These are some of our other decorations.

This is a Nativity wall quilt I made with my mom and Grama a couple years ago.

In my family, we collect Nativities, this is one that I picked out for my mom and it has always been my favorite. You can't really see in the picture, but it has the Christmas scriptures on the figures, it's really pretty and unique. But, anyways, my mom was sweet enough to give it to us to start our collection.

These two are some that I painted, and they work quite well at framing the door to the kitchen.

We decided to save a little money and buy plain stockings and decorate them ourselves. It doubled as decor and spending some time together doing something fun. These are some of the coolest stockings I've ever seen!

We finished out the evening watching movies and having treats.

Gotta love Cinnamon Rolls, Egg Nog, and Fake Nog!!

Our Wedding

Ok, so I figured that since I am just sitting here in Park City that I might do a post about me and Mike's wedding...
We got married on September 10, 2010 in Las Vegas Nevada. We left Utah at about 2:00 in the afternoon after picking our apartment. During the drive, we were a little worried about making it in time for our reservation, completely forgetting that we gain an hour driving to Nevada. Slight oversight and blonde moment on our part....
Once we got there, checked into our hotel, the Grandview, which on a sidenote, I highly recommend to anyone planning to stay in Vegas, Mike went to get some dinner for us while I got ready for the ceremony. After we had SubWay sandwiches, my favorite, Mike got ready and we waited for the limo ride. Yes, that totally says LIMO ride!
Our limo driver was a really cool guy named Gus, who made the ride pretty fun, and he didn't care when we pushed all the buttons.
We got to the chapel and there was one more couple ahead of us just finishing up. So, after we signed a few papers, got our flowers, a few pictures, and a quick ceremony, me and Mike are officially married!!

First Thanksgiving

This is me and Mike's first big holiday together. We are spending it in Park City with Mikey's family.
This will be an impressive year of firsts for me. It's my first time in Park City, my first time away from my family for Thanksgiving (granted, I'm with family, but you know what I mean), and the first time in at least 4 years that I haven't done most or all of the cooking.
We left yesterday, Saturday, at around 2:30 and made it to The Park Plaza by 4:00. I don't know about anyone else, but I always thought that Park City was really far away. Doesn't it just sound far? I always thought so, but it is closer to our apartment than going to Farr West! Crazy, right?
Anyways, about 10 minutes before we got to the hotel, it started snowing! It hasn't stopped since, and there is more than a foot! How cool is that?
So we got our car and GG's unpacked and somewhat settled into the rooms. We have 2 pretty much apartments here at the hotel, they are amazing. They are a lot like our apartment. Even down to the fireplaces. We had to wait for everyone else to get here, and then we had dinner.
In the middle of the hotel there is a swimming pool and hot tub. So after dinner, and waiting a little while to prevent drowning, we went for a swim. It was the first time I have been swimming in at least 6 years. It was soooo fun!! Then the nephews and niece came to swim with us, and that was way fun too. Evan was too cute swimming around like a maniac. I totally wish we could have taken pictures!
Anyways, more later, and we hope you all enjoy our blog!!
